Property Details
The farmhouse residence has four charming bedrooms and three baths. It is the perfect Vermont Vacation Rental destination for couples seeking a romantic setting -- or for a larger group of 4 to 8 people looking for a great vacation with something for everyone. We are 30 minutes from three major ski areas. The farmhouse is fully air-conditioned throughout for summer guests on those rare occasions when Vermont has a hot spell. There are two four-wheelers and two snowmobiles available for guest use in accordance with our Policy Statement. Some of our other amenities include a den/playroom with bumper pool (and two sofa-beds), wireless broadband Internet throughout the house, swimming pool, a Jacuzzi tub, our own cross-country skiing, a washer and a dryer, and a charming front porch with views towards the Green Mountains. We especially love watching the colors change on Camel's Hump as the sunsets behind us.Area Description
The picturesque town of Bristol is 20 minutes from Old Orchard Farm. On the way to Bristol is Mary’s at Baldwin Creek, one of Vermont’s premier restaurants. Mary’s also offers cooking classes.
The town of Middlebury, home of Middlebury College, is 35 minutes away. Middlebury has fine dining and plenty to see, including the Frog Hollow crafts center. Frog Hollow offers classes for students of all ages in different media, including fiber, glass, metal, painting, photography and wood -- also has items for sale from local Vermont artisans.
There are three ski resorts within a 30 minute drive: Bolton Valley, Mad River Glen and Sugarbush. The town of Burlington, with multiple attractions (including boat rides on Lake Champlain) is but 35 minutes from the farm. Stowe ski area is 50 minutes away.
In the summer if you are a hiking fan, the trail to the summit of Camel’s Hump is just a ten minute drive. The hour long hike to the top rewards you with 360 degree panoramic views. From the summit, to the west you can easily see Old Orchard Farm, with the distinctive red roof of its farmhouse, and Lake Champlain further off in the distance.Transport
